GIANT FELT LEARNING WORLD MAP
This is a beautiful, hand cut and sewn felt world map originally designed for a
culturally curious three year old.  Based on the Montessori principle of child led
learning, it has infinite possibilities leading well into the double digit ages.

The map itself is 6 feet by three feet and made of olive green felt on light blue
felt. It is bound in a matching blue and green cotton fabric with grommets and
ribbons across the top for hanging. The continents were hand drawn and cut,
then sewn on with different colored thread showing the borders of the continents.
(Yours might have a slightly different border material).

WITH this beautiful hanging (which could just be an art piece in itself) comes 24
accessories and a usage/activity book. The pieces are printed on card stock,
laminated for durability, and have hook velcro on the back for easy attachment
and removal on the map.

Each piece is whole lesson in itself!

The activity pages include a KEY which shows the correct place for each piece,
as well as descriptions of them and websites for further research. I will include
one or two of the printouts as an example. This is geared to a 3-6 year old, but
can easily be expanded on for older children. The pieces are not your everyday
"bald eagle for the united states" research items...they include ones like "the
Pyramids at Giza" and the "Toucan bird of the South American rain forest". I have
tried to have each piece represent a different area with little repetition.
